Since 1944, TIADA has been and continues to be the only statewide organization for independent automobile dealers. Whether you sell 10 or 10,000 cars a year, TIADA is your voice in Austin. TIADA is a member-owned, member-governed association that consists of more than 1200 of the best used car dealers in Texas that believe in creating a better image for the industry while protecting their rights as business owners. We are led by a number of dedicated volunteers from across the state and a professional, experienced staff committed to offering valuable programs and services to the independent automobile dealer.
The purpose of this association shall be to improve the public image of dealers; establish and encourage the highest standards of business practices; to concert all efforts toward defeat of any legislation adverse to the best interests of the trade; to acquire, preserve and disseminate valuable business information to dealers and to promote a better understanding and improve acquaintanceship among dealers.
Members of FWIADA also enjoy full membership to the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association as well opportunities to become active in local chapters throughout the state.
FWIADA members have the opportunity to be more efficient. That’s because of the relationships and the clout the association has with state agencies like TxDMV, OCCC, and the State Comptroller. Through these relationships the association is able to offer unmatched customer service, saving time and money for our members by making a phone call on their behalf or putting them in touch with right people.
TXDMV offers training seminars to help dealers understand the rules and regulations that govern their businesses. Each day-long seminar includes information that enables dealers to stay in compliance and avoid common unintentional violations. Topics include: advertising, selling and financing motor vehicles, trade-ins, titles, and eTags. At the seminar, dealers have the opportunity to interact with TXDMV staff to better understand how the law and rules impact business practices.
